LV Imagination review: the tea note, explained

23 Jul 20265 min readBy Vapor Archive

Citrus, Earl Grey and amber. Why the tea is what people notice.

Imagination is the most complimented bottle we sell, and the reason is a single note.

The notes

Bergamot, mandarin and ginger at the top, Earl Grey tea and cistus in the heart, amber, guaiac wood and musk at the base.

Tea is the rarest thing in a fragrance to get right, because done badly it just smells like warm paper.

Performance

Eight hours from two dabs, with the tea and amber carrying the middle of the day. It performs better in the oil than most citrus-led fragrances do.

Who it suits

Daytime and early evening, unisex, and anyone who wants to smell expensive without wearing something heavy.

Verdict

The bottle we would buy if we could only keep one from Volume 01.
