Oud Maracujá review: passionfruit meets oud

26 Jul 20265 min readBy Vapor Archive

Tart at the top, dark at the base, and it changes more than anything else we stock.

Passionfruit and oud sounds like a mistake and works. It is also the fragrance in this archive that changes most on skin.

The notes

Passionfruit and bergamot at the top, rose and saffron in the heart, oud, patchouli and leather at the base.

Smell it at ten minutes and at two hours and you will think someone swapped your wrist.

Performance

Nine hours, strong projection. The fruit burns off within the first hour and what remains is a dry, woody oud.

Who it suits

Anyone curious about oud who does not want to start with something purely animalic. Evenings and cool weather.

Verdict

Buy the tester before the bottle. If you love the opening more than the base, this is not your fragrance.
