Why 10ml of oil lasts longer than you think

The arithmetic of two dabs a day, and how cost per wear compares to a designer bottle.

The most common objection we hear about a 10ml bottle is that it looks small. Then people do the arithmetic.

Ten millilitres is roughly a hundred and fifty wears. Most people finish a bottle of spray long before that.

The numbers

Two dabs is about 0.06ml. At one wear a day, 10ml runs for four to five months. A 50ml spray at five sprays a day runs out in about two.

Cost per wear

At ₦11,000, a 10ml bottle costs roughly seventy naira a wear. That is the number worth comparing between fragrances, not the shelf price.

When 30ml makes sense

Buy 30ml only for a scent you have already worn for a month. It is better value per millilitre, but only if it is a bottle you will finish.
